Job summary

Visiting Rehab and Nursing Services (VRNS) is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our home care team in Brookline, MA. You’ll provide skilled OT services in patients’ homes, supporting independence and safety with flexible per diem scheduling.

Ideal candidates have Massachusetts OT licensure, at least 1 year of clinical experience, and afternoon availability. Mileage reimbursement and ongoing development opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations in patients' homes.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.

• Assess home environments and recommend safety modifications/equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation.

Your Role as a Home Care Occupational Therapist (OT):

As an Occupational Therapist (OT) with VRNS, you’ll provide skilled occupational therapy services directly in patients’ homes. You’ll work closely with patients, caregivers, and their care teams to improve independence, functional abilities, safety, and quality of life. Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations
• Developing individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs
• Providing therapeutic activities and interventions to improve functional independence
• Training patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Assessing patients’ home environments and recommending appropriate safety modifications and adaptive equipment
• Providing education and training to patients and caregivers
• Monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment plans as needed
• Collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely electronic documentation
