Occupational Therapists at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital play a key role across both inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) and acute-care settings. Our integrated model gives clinicians the opportunity to treat patients through multiple phases of recovery. Delivering intensive, goal-driven therapy in the IRF while also supporting acute medical teams with early mobility, functional assessments, and discharge planning. This blended approach strengthens clinical skills, promotes continuity of care, and ensures patients receive high-quality rehabilitation throughout their hospital stay.

Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient's functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.

• Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.

• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.

• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.

• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.

• Leading--providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred

• Experience in appropriate healthcare setting

• Clear/active Florida Occupational Therapist license

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire)

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
