Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist on a PRN/per diem basis to help patients regain strength, mobility and confidence after illness or surgery. You will work with physicians to create personalized plans and deliver evidence-based interventions across IRF and acute-care settings.

You will educate patients and families, monitor progress, document outcomes, and mentor assistants while upholding HCA’s values of excellence, compassion and integrity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy.
• Florida license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent communication and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient abilities and develop personalized treatment plans with the care team.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to restore movement and reduce pain.
• Monitor progress, adjust therapy plans, and document outcomes timely.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and safe practices.

Physical Therapist - PRN/Per Diem

As a Physical Therapist, you play a vital role in helping patients regain strength, restore mobility, and rebuild confidence following illness, injury, or surgery. Working closely with physicians and the care team, you’ll assess each patient's needs and create personalized therapy plans designed around meaningful goals, active engagement, and exceptional patient outcomes. Physical Therapists at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital play a key role across both inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) and acute‑care settings. Our integrated model gives clinicians the opportunity to treat patients through multiple phases of recovery—delivering intensive, goal‑driven therapy in the IRF while also supporting acute medical teams with early mobility, functional assessments, and discharge planning. This blended approach strengthens clinical skills, promotes continuity of care, and ensures patients receive high‑quality rehabilitation throughout their hospital stay.

Your role will include:

• Evaluating patient abilities and developing personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team
• Delivering evidence-based interventions that restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life
• Monitoring progress, refining therapy plans, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation of outcomes
• Educating patients and families on exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices that promote independence
• Collaborating across disciplines to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and smooth transitions throughout recovery
• Leading by example—mentoring therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s values of excellence, compassion, and integrity

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure as a Physical Therapist
• Current certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
