Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgical use. You will work closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and cooperation within a high-quality care team at our Charlotte County facility.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Previous experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed.
