Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, TX seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and quality of life. You will evaluate needs, design individualized plans with physicians, and provide hands-on therapy across recovery stages.

Qualifications

  • BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
  • OTR license obtained and active.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • 1–2 years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans with physicians and the care team.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
  • Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families to support recovery and understanding of the therapy process.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, you will evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing. Your role will include:
  • Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
  • Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
  • Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
  • Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered
  • Bachelors Degree
  • One-two years' experience preferred.
