Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our patient-centered team. You will evaluate clients, create individualized plans, and provide hands-on therapy to promote independence and quality of life.

You will document progress and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe transitions of care. You will educate patients and families, lead by example, and contribute to a culture of compassion and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Must have BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an OT program is required.
  • (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered.
  • (OT) Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Texas is required.
  • Experience in a rehab setting preferred, new grads will be considered.
  • Must be able to work weekdays with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
  • Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
  • Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
  • Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Bachelors Degree from an OT program is required
  • (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered
  • (OT) Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Texas is required
  • Experience in a rehab setting preferred, new grads will be considered
