Job summary

New Concepts for Living (NCFL) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to support adults with developmental disabilities. You will evaluate, treat, and develop individualized plans aligned with ISP, supervise COTA, complete documentation, and collaborate with the care team to promote independence and meaningful outcomes.

Position based in Paramus, NJ with some duties in Rochelle Park; full-time, 45 hours/week.

Occupational Therapist (OT)

As an Occupational Therapist at NCFL, you’ll:

  • Evaluate and treat clients based on their individual needs, abilities, and goals.
  • Provide habilitative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to adults with I/DD and individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or psychological needs.
  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments to evaluate functional abilities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with each individual's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Adapt and modify treatment plans and interventions as clinically indicated.
  • Supervise and provide clinical direction to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(s) (COTA).
  • Complete recertifications, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with Support Coordinators to promote implementation of therapy recommendations in home and community settings.
  • Educate direct support staff on recommendations, strategies, and interventions to be implemented outside of therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other members of the individual's care team to promote effective, coordinated care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed and contribute clinical expertise to support positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and agency standards.
  • Follow directives from the Clinical Director and adhere to NJ DDD guidelines for habilitative and rehabilitative therapy services.

Your Schedule:
  • Full-time
  • 45 hours per week
  • Based in Paramus & Rochelle Park, NJ
What You’ll Bring:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current New Jersey Occupational Therapy license
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and clinical initiatives
  • Ability to effectively supervise and provide direction to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(s)
  • Experience with Foothold AWARDS preferred
