Job summary

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell is seeking per diem Occupational Therapists to join the care team. You will assess residents, develop care plans, and provide direct treatments within established plans of care.

You will teach and train caregivers, supervise other therapists and students, and participate in clinical program development while ensuring compliance with regulations. Weekly pay up to $55/hour and opportunities for ongoing education are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters in Occupational Therapy required.
  • CEU requirements per state licensure must be met.
  • Active licensure as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients/residents and evaluate needs to develop care plans.
  • Provide direct resident treatments per established plan of care (individual, supervised and group).
  • Assist with administrative duties: overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, and physician order execution.
  • Contribute to team meetings and clinical decision-making processes.
  • Train patients/residents and caregivers; supervise staff and students as required.
  • Document activities timely in the clinical documentation system.
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, residents, team members and supervisor.
  • Participate in program development and training of staff and volunteers.

Education

Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy

Job description

We are hiring per diem Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic care team at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell!

Weekly pay up to $55 an hour.

As an Occupational Therapist, you provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab caseload while also participating in the clinical team process. You also provide teaching and training to caregiver staff and supervise other therapists, assistants, aides and students as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • CEU’s per state licensure requirements.

  • Appropriate licensing requirements by individual states must be maintained.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Screens patients/residents

  • Evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.

  • May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as: assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.

  • Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised and group.

  • Contributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.

  • Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers.

  • Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.

  • Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.

  • Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.

  • Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers and supervisor.

  • Provides appropriate consultation to the facility.

  • Participates in clinical program development and implementation.

  • Participates in the training and orientation of other staff, students and volunteers.

  • Participates in the interviewing process for new staff.

  • Participates in census building and marketing activities.

  • Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.

  • Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information.

  • May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Participates in quality improvement activities.

  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.
