Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist. You will assess residents, develop and implement care plans, and provide direct treatment under physician orders.
You may supervise therapists, aides and students, train caregivers, and contribute to team decisions while upholding Medicare and regulatory requirements. Per diem schedule with weekly pay opportunities.
We are hiring per diem Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic care team at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell!
Weekly pay up to $55 an hour.
As an Occupational Therapist, you provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab caseload while also participating in the clinical team process. You also provide teaching and training to caregiver staff and supervise other therapists, assistants, aides and students as required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.
CEU’s per state licensure requirements.
Appropriate licensing requirements by individual states must be maintained.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Screens patients/residents
Evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.
May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as: assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.
Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised and group.
Contributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.
Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers.
Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers and supervisor.
Provides appropriate consultation to the facility.
Participates in clinical program development and implementation.
Participates in the training and orientation of other staff, students and volunteers.
Participates in the interviewing process for new staff.
Participates in census building and marketing activities.
Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.
Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information.
May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.
