Job summary

LEARN Behavioral is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to join Learn It Academic Services in Philadelphia, PA. You will evaluate students, develop OT intervention plans aligned with IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers.

You will support MTSS/RTI initiatives, adapt learning environments, document progress, and mentor assistant(s) while promoting access to the curriculum through UDL strategies and assistive technology.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT OT examination must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' functional abilities (e.g., fine motor, sensory processing, activities of daily living).
• Develop and implement OT intervention plans aligned with students' IEP goals and educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate OT strategies into the curriculum and provide consultative services.
• Adapt learning environments and materials to enhance participation and independence in educational activities.
• Contribute to the IEP process by providing progress insights and recommending interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.

What You Have

• Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' functional abilities in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
• Develop and implement occupational therapy intervention plans that align with students IEP goals and educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational curriculum and provide consultative services.
• Adapt learning environments and materials to enhance student participation and independence in educational activities.
• Contribute to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy.
• Support early intervening services and participate in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives.
• Provide expertise in assistive technology and universal design for learning (UDL) strategies to support student access to the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the special education team to ensure occupational therapy services align with the least restrictive environment (LRE) principle.
• Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the occupational therapy community.
• Provide trainings to instructional and related service staff.
