Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join school-based teams in Philadelphia. This part-time role supports students with special needs across classrooms and therapy spaces.

You will administer screenings, provide OT services to help students access the curriculum, determine eligibility under IDEA, and collaborate with school staff and parents. PA licensure and ASHA CCC are preferred; strong virtual platform skills (Teams, MS Office) are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• PA licensure as OTR/L is required.
• ASHA CCC in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience providing speech evaluations is preferred.
• Proficiency with virtual platforms (Teams) and MS Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers screenings and diagnostic tests to assess functional tasks, sensory processing, motor skills and cognition.
• Provides occupational therapy services to students to improve school and home functioning.
• Determines eligibility for special education services under IDEA.
• Interprets tests, analyzes findings, prepares reports and communicates results to parents and school staff.
• Maintains comprehensive evaluation reports and recommendations per IDEA requirements.
• Serves on the student’s multidisciplinary team and collaborates with school personnel and parents.
• Provides consultation to school psychologists and parents about OT test results.
• Acts as a resource to families and school staff on occupational therapy.
• Completes required paperwork accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

How you’ll be there for students:

• Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine a child’s competency in relation to functional tasks, sensory processing, fine/gross motor skills, and cognition.
• Provides occupational therapy services to students in attempt to enhance the student’s ability to access and make progress in their school and home life.

• Determine student eligibility for special education services under one of the primary disability categories defined by IDEA.

• Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of functional performance, produces standardized test scores, provides in-person observation, and generates reports providing feedback to parents and when applicable, school personnel.

• Prepare clear and comprehensive evaluation reports that document the presence or absence of an impairment, including results, interpretation, and recommendations in accordance with IDEA requirements

• Serves as a member of the student’s multidisciplinary team, if appropriate.

• Offers consultation and collaboration with school psychologists and parents in support of students’ occupational therapy testing results.
• Acts as a resource to parents, school personnel and other caregivers in the area of occupational therapy.

• Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications

What we’ll need from you:

• 3-5 years of experience providing speech evaluations to students is preferred

• Must be able to work independently

• Must have a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, as required by state and contract

• Registered and licensed Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist required (OTR/L)

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology

• Must have or be willing to obtain all active PA state mandated clearances (Child abuse, FBI fingerprints, criminal background check, etc.)

• Must be proficient with virtual platforms, i.e. TEAMS, MS Office
