Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.

Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re‑evaluations.

You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

  • Evaluates, plans and implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, and age‑specific needs; performs evaluations, tests, and measurements of functional status, neuromuscular, musculo‑skeletal, cognitive/perceptual, and sensory/psychological functions.
  • Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customers’ needs are met in a timely manner; encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education.
  • Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to, patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule.
  • Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. This includes, but is not limited to, discharge planning, participation in care conferences, interdisciplinary rounds, collaborative practice groups, the student program and community endeavors.
  • Assigns, supervises and reviews the care of patients and duties of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and therapy aide.
  • Promotes and supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel.

Pay Range

$35.53 – $52.85 per hour
