Job Summary And Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be a compassionate and integral part of our rehabilitation team, empowering patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life. Every day, you will expertly implement Occupational Therapist–developed treatment plans for diverse patients across orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, and other areas. You will conduct interventions, provide motivating care, meticulously document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Administer appropriate treatments to patients at the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist; demonstrate knowledge and skill in therapeutic exercise and activities, manual techniques, transfers, activities of daily living, modalities, and rehabilitation equipment.
- Instruct and supervise patient care rehabilitation technicians, and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous and consistent manner.
- Maintain timely and accurate medical records; record legibly in patient charts; complete reports in an organized, thorough and timely manner.
- Foster communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support; attend and provide quality input during multidisciplinary rounds and departmental meetings.
- Provide patient and family education; include information on outside resources to meet the patient's specific needs.
- Promote health‑care outcomes in concert with accepted clinical practice guidelines and established clinical pathways; identify poor outcomes/data for referral for performance improvement.
Required
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, upon hire.
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), State of Texas, within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support – CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
Preferred
- 1–2 years of clinical experience.

Pay Range
$24.88 - $37.00 per hour
