Job summary

CHI is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Bryan, Texas. In this role, you will be an essential part of our rehabilitation team, aiding patients in regaining independence.

Your responsibilities include administering treatments, instructing and supervising rehabilitation staff, and maintaining accurate patient records. We require an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and certification upon hire. The pay range is $24.88 - $37.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Job Summary

As our Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be a compassionate and integral part of our rehabilitation team, empowering patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Administers appropriate treatments to patients under the direction of a supervising Occupational Therapist; demonstrates knowledge and skill in therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, transfers, activities of daily living, modalities, and rehabilitation equipment.
• Instructs and supervises patient care rehabilitation technicians and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous, and consistent manner.
• Maintains timely and accurate medical records, records legibly in patient charts, and completes reports in an organized, thorough, and timely manner.
• Fosters communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support; attends and provides quality input during multidisciplinary rounds and departmental meetings.
• Provides patient and family education, including information on outside resources to meet the patient’s specific needs.
• Promotes health care outcomes in concert with currently accepted clinical practice guidelines and established clinical pathways; identifies poor outcomes/data for referral for performance improvement.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, upon hire.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (TX), upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR), within 14 days of hire.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, within 90 days of hire.

Preferred

• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
