Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, TX seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan and implement therapy programs based on physician referral. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals and document care accurately.

You must hold a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy, TX OT license, and BLS-CPR certification. This on-site role offers daily patient care in inpatient/outpatient settings with a focus on quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (TX) with current credentialing.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • Strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, plans and implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referrals and plan of care.
  • Designs programs to meet patient physical, psychological, and age-specific needs; performs functional status evaluations and measurements.
  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to meet patients and customers' needs in a timely manner; engages patient/family in goal setting and education.
  • Completes all necessary documentation per policy (charting, charge entry, peer reviews, daily scheduling).
  • Coordinates care with hospital activities, including discharge planning, care conferences, rounds, and student programs.
  • Assigns, supervises, and reviews care by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and therapy aides.
  • Promotes positive customer service and teamwork, ensuring timely patient and customer needs are met.

  • Evaluates, plans and Implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral, and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, and age specific needs; Performs evaluations, tests, and measurements of functional status, neuromuscular, musculo‑skeletal, cognitive/perceptual, and sensory /psychological Functions
  • Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner; encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education
  • Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule
  • Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. This includes, but is not limited to, discharge planning, participation in care conferences, interdisciplinary rounds, collaborative practice groups, the student program and community endeavors
  • Assigns, supervises and reviews the care of patients and duties of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, and therapy aide
  • Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.
