As our Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be a compassionate and integral part of our rehabilitation team, empowering patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life.
Every day, you will expertly implement Occupational Therapist-developed treatment plans for diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.). You'll conduct interventions, provide motivating care, meticulously document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong OT principles, excellent communication, and a passion for patient empowerment. Your flexibility, organization, and motivating team‑player approach are paramount.

The certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) delivers quality therapy services by implementing treatment in accordance with the established treatment plan to achieve goals and maximize functional outcomes. The COTA provides care at the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist and actively participates in discharge planning. The COTA is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy. Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach, including the patient and significant others. These services are delivered in compliance with CommonSpirit Health's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.
