Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) seeks a safety-focused professional to guide management and staff on safety matters within the Central PDO District (Central Arizona). The role involves occasional remote work within Arizona, extensive travel, and driving as part of the job.

The team supports all ADOT divisions as needed. Primary duties include incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions; delivering safety training and inspections to reduce risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or 5 years equivalent full time work experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

Responsibilities

• Participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis; assist management with corrective actions.
• Conduct safety visits and inspections; recommend improvements to reduce injury risk and ensure compliance with safety codes.
• Develop, maintain and present safety training; demonstrate safe work techniques and participate in safety meetings.
• Determine potential problem areas and provide guidance in proper safety procedures.
