Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health's Employee Health department is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide occupational health services to employees under policy and procedure guidelines. The role includes performing pre-placement physicals, immunizations, and return-to-work assessments, with collaboration across supervisors and health care teams.

Required is an MA RN license and BLS, plus at least three years of medical/surgical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Massachusetts RN license.
• BLS certification is required.
• At least 3 years of work experience as a medical or surgical staff nurse.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial post-offer/pre-placement physical assessment and immunization/testing as needed.
• Follows up on unusual findings with education, counseling, referrals, or work restrictions.
• Promotes employee health through health education and promotion.
• Evaluates return-to-work clearance after illness/injury and approves or defers as needed.
• Collaborates with supervisors to ensure safe return to work for restricted or limited-duty employees.
• Assists in immunization and TB testing programs per policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains accurate employee health records and logs as required by policy and law.
• Assists in developing and revising Employee Health guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Supports workers' compensation processes and liaises with physicians/insurers.
• Files claims/reports in manager's absence and coordinates care for return to work.
• Maintains ongoing professional development in Employee Health and Occupational Health Nursing.
• Collaborates with staff and other providers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
