Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Certification as Occupational Health Nurse preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• At least three (3) years of work experience as a medical or surgical staff nurse.

Responsibilities

• Conducts post-offer/pre-placement physical assessments and immunizations as needed.
• Follow up on unusual findings with education, counseling, referrals, or work restrictions.
• Promotes health and safety through health education and promotion.
• Evaluate return-to-work clearance and approve or extend leave as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors to ensure safe return to work for restricted-duty staff.
• Assist in immunization and TB testing per policy and public health guidelines.
• Assist in exposure follow-up for blood-borne pathogens and other infections per policy.
• Maintain accurate employee health records and logs per regulations.
• Assist in developing and revising employee health guidelines and procedures.
• Assist with workers' compensation programs and liaison with physicians and insurers.
• Support professional development and ongoing education in employee health.
