Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Registered Nurse to support occupational health and workers compensation programs in Omaha, NE. The RN will deliver nursing care, manage cases, conduct screenings, and coordinate care across employees and providers to promote safe return-to-work outcomes.

Ideal candidates have experience in occupational health, orthopedics, or emergency settings, and bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Nursing.
• Active RN license required.
• 35 years of nursing experience in one or more of the following areas: Occupational Health, Orthopedics, Emergency Room / Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management support as needed.
• Perform post-offer drug screenings and vision screenings.
• Maintain medical records in accordance with HIPAA, the Nurse Practice Act, ADAA, and Medical Privacy Act guidelines.
• Communicate screening and medical results to Corporate Safety.
• Provide, monitor, and coordinate medical care for workers compensation patients.
• Deliver quality, compassionate, and consistent patient care within established medical and professional standards.
• Manage work-related injuries and illnesses by facilitating and coordinating care with physicians, specialists, therapists, employees, and internal QA/EHS leadership.
• Help ensure employees return to work as quickly and safely as possible.
• Make recommendations, when appropriate, to help reduce or eliminate ergonomic and safety risk factors that could contribute to workplace injuries and illnesses.
• Document nursing notes, physical results, workers compensation information, and related communications within OHM software using appropriate medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Assist Occupational Health Nurses and the Workers Compensation Coordinator as needed.
