Job summary

County of Sonoma is seeking an Occupancy Specialist I/II to learn and process annual and interim recertifications in line with the Housing Authority Administrative Plan. You will review household income, communicate with clients, verify documents, and resolve case-related issues with support from the Occupancy Team.

The ideal candidate demonstrates empathy, sound judgment, and strong teamwork while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to procedural changes.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in public administration, business, accounting, or related fields.
• One year of responsible clerical or general administrative support experience.

Responsibilities

• Process annual and interim recertifications.
• Review and verify household and financial information; perform income calculations.
• Communicate with clients regarding documentation and program requirements.
• Identify and resolve case-related issues; provide responsive service to client households.
• Work independently while collaborating with the Occupancy Team.
