Job summary

Shinda Management Corporation is seeking an Occupancy Coordinator to manage occupancy-related activities across properties in the New York area. You will interview applicants, verify income eligibility, review LIHTC and HUD applications, and prepare move-in documentation, letters, and reports.

The role emphasizes meticulous recordkeeping, timely communications, and collaboration with Site Managers to maintain accurate vacancy data, while supporting equal opportunity employment and comprehensive

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or Equivalent vocational/technical training, preferred.
  • At least two years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in affordable and/or public housing, specifically maintaining compliance of LIHTC program.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and internet usage.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and conduct interviews of potential applicants.
  • Review applications and income eligibility.
  • Review HUD 50059/LIHTC applications.
  • Send appropriate letters to applicants, including approval, waiting list, and rejection letters.
  • File and recordkeeping; ensure records are stored properly.
  • Run and analyze background checks; prepare move-in files.
  • Update vacancy reports accurately through effective communication.

Description

Shinda is looking for an Occupancy Coordinator to maintain all occupancy-related activities for the properties.

Essential Role and Responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct interviews of potential applicants
  • Send appointment letter to the Site Manager (when applicable)
  • Consistently and accurately update all records
  • Review applications and income eligibility
  • Review HUD 50059/LIHTC applications
  • Send all pre-qualified applications with a move-in memo and a copy of the initial interview appointment letter to the Site Manager
  • Send appropriate letters to applicants, including approval letters, waiting list letters, and rejection letters.
  • Filing
  • Recordkeeping
  • Ensure timely and proper applicant information is stored
  • Run and analyze background checks
  • Prepare waiting list placement letters
  • Prepare files for move in
  • Review files for move in (when applicable)
  • Demonstrate effective communication when needed to update vacancy reports accurately

COVID Vaccination Policy
