Qualifications

  • Five years of space, occupancy, workplace, or real estate data experience.
  • Experience reconciling floor plans, space assignments, occupancy, and financial information.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet, database, visualization, and applicable drawing tools.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Occupancy and Space Management Analyst supports the accurate and effective management of space and occupancy data. The position is responsible for maintaining space records, stacking plans, occupancy information, and change tracking while conducting utilization analyses and reconciling space, occupancy, and financial data to support informed real estate and workplace decisions.

Background

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan legislative branch agency that supports Congress in meeting its constitutional responsibilities and improving the performance, transparency, and accountability of the Federal Government.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate space records, occupancy data, stacking plans, and space assignment information.
  • Track and document occupancy changes, including moves, assignments, vacancies, and space reconfigurations.
  • Reconcile floor plans, space assignments, occupancy records, and financial information to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct space utilization, occupancy, vacancy, and capacity analyses to support workplace and real estate planning.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, visualizations, and other tools used to manage and analyze space data.
  • Review and update floor plans and stacking plans using applicable drawing and space planning tools.
  • Identify data discrepancies, investigate variances, and coordinate corrections with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, charts, analyses, and presentations summarizing occupancy and space management information.
  • Support space planning, occupancy actions, and portfolio initiatives by providing accurate and timely data.
  • Maintain documentation and data standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability of space information.
  • Coordinate with facility, real estate, financial, and customer stakeholders to validate space and occupancy information.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve space utilization, data quality, and overall space management processes.

Location and Work Hours

This position is 100% on-site and requires daily reporting to the following location:

GAO Headquarters

Washington, DC

This role is not eligible for remote or telework arrangements. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite and be able to reliably report on-site as required.

This position follows a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Employees are expected to be available during core business hours of 8:00am- 5:00pm, with additional working hours scheduled outside of core hours as needed to fulfill the full work schedule.

The candidate must currently reside within commutable distance to the work location.

Compensation

This position is being recruited in support of a competitive federal contracting opportunity, and AES is continuing to develop its staffing, labor category, and compensation strategy. Because this position is expected to support a primarily remote workforce and qualified candidates may reside in different geographic markets throughout the United States, compensation expectations may vary considerably by location.

Final compensation will consider factors including geographic market, relevant experience, education, specialized records management expertise, applicable labor category requirements, and contractual and business considerations.
