Job summary

UC Health is seeking an Obstetrics Technician for West Chester Hospital. This part-time, day-shift role supports Labor and Delivery under RN supervision, with emphasis on patient safety and efficient flow in a busy obstetric unit.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 60 days, and a preference for STNA or RN program rotation experience. No prior experience required but OR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• STNA preferred.
• NLN-accredited RN program student with completed clinical rotation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population appropriate communication.
• Performs aspects of clinical care under the supervision of an RN who assigns tasks.
• Performs scrub duties for obstetrical surgical cases and uses OB equipment safely.
• Assists with vaginal deliveries (preps, drapes, positioning).
• Weighs patient and records weight accurately.
• Performs bedside glucose finger sticks.
• Performs QC on lab instruments.
• Notifies OB Manager of supply chain issues and maintains unit stock.
• Provides transport assistance and helps with patient discharges as needed.
• Keeps OB supplies stocked to maintain patient safety and room readiness.

Education

High school diploma or GED

STNA (within 60 days of hire)

RN program rotation or equivalent clinical experience
