Job summary

Kaleida Health is seeking an RN for obstetric care and fetal monitoring at our Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves assessing patients, providing treatments, and executing physician orders, all while following Kaleida policies.

Applicants must hold NYS RN registration and a current BLS, with ACLS/NRP/AWHONN fetal monitoring certifications to be completed within the specified timelines. Experience in obstetrics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NYS registration as RN or RN permit required at hire.
• BLS within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• ACLS, NRP & AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring certs within 1 year of hire/transfer; NCC electronic fetal monitoring cert within 1 year; mandatory by 12/31/2026.

Assesses and treats human responses to actual and potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive or restorative of life and well-being. Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations. Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.

Education And Credentials

Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse/RN Permit required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter. American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of Hire and must be maintained thereafter. RN Obstetrics Maternity Float Pools- MFS and OCH - American Heart Association ACLS, American Academy of Pediatrics NRP & AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring certification required within one (1) year of hire/transfer and must be maintained thereafter. Must also obtain their NCC certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring within one (1) year of hire/transfer and must remain current. Effective 8/1/2024, all current employees will need to obtain this certification within eighteen (18) months by 12/31/2026.

Experience

Recent OB experience (1 year within past 3 years) preferred.

For Registered Nurse clinical positions, internal applicants must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position for which they are applying or in a comparable area of practice. Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. All applicants will be required to satisfy all orientation/probationary requirements.
