Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an RN Education Coordinator for Obstetrics to lead development, coordination, and delivery of clinical education programs supporting excellence in maternal and newborn care.

You will mentor new nurses, assess educational needs, and coordinate competency validations, working with nursing leadership to enhance staff development and clinical performance across the obstetrics service line.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited program required.
• MSN preferred.
• Two or more years RN experience, or one or more years RN experience in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary educator for new staff in their entity and coordinates with each unit preceptor.
• Mentors new nurses through programs such as the new grad support group and the preceptor group.
• Conducts educational needs assessments and develops programs based on identified needs.
• Coordinates annual educational offerings and updates with unit leadership.
• Promotes clinical ladder advancement and attainment of national certification.
• Assists in portfolio development and education required for national specialty certification.
• Facilitates Evidence Based Practice initiatives and disseminates research and best practices.
