Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to manage instruments and equipment during procedures, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety. The role requires anticipating the surgeon’s needs and assisting with room setup and instrument readiness.

Preferred candidates have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program and hold or are pursuing current certification, with BCLS and de-escalation training completed within orientation. Prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by end of orientation (90 days).
• Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during the surgical procedure.
• Understands the procedure and anticipates surgeon needs.
• Maintains sterile field and quality patient care during operation.
• Prepares the room before surgery and handles required instruments and sutures.
• Follows Singing River Health System procedures and policies.
