Overview
Obstetrical Anesthesiologist – Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. This is a non-tenure academic clinician track position.
Responsibilities
- Provide obstetrical anesthesia care at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and suggested affiliated locations, including operating rooms and non-operating room anesthesia procedural areas.
- Contribute to teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows through clinical supervision in the operating rooms and via lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.
- Engage in clinical service activities and potential administrative leadership roles; participate in department committees as appropriate.
- Maintain a record of clinical and teaching excellence consistent with the academic clinician track.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- ABA certification in anesthesiology, an equivalent credential, or status as a candidate in the examination system, with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license.
- Fellowship training in obstetric anesthesiology and/or substantial experience providing obstetric anesthesia care (ideally three years).
- Mid-career candidates are encouraged to apply.
