Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is seeking an OB Technician to join the Labor and Delivery team for a full-time night shift. You will support nurses, physicians and the care team to ensure a safe and compassionate birth experience.

The role involves assisting with labor and delivery procedures, maintaining sterile fields and instruments, and providing patient- and family-centered care across labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum settings.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or Surgical Technologist diploma required.
• Certification/licensure: LPN or certified Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assist with labor and delivery procedures and provide technical support to the clinical team.
• Prepare, set up, and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments for deliveries and C-sections.
• Support patients and families with compassion and professionalism.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care at all times.
• Work collaboratively with nurses and providers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
• Assist with patient admissions, vital signs, and general unit duties as needed.
