Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure. Maintains sterile field and performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
