Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join the obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care in the Capital Region. This academic medical center, a Level 1 trauma center and SOAP COE designated, offers a collaborative environment with broad referral reach including high-risk MFM cases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required)
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
