Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care of the obstetric population at our center. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Our practice includes both healthy parturients and medically complex patients with high-risk and MFM cases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology is required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses and perioperative teams to improve outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty for professional and academic growth.
