Job summary

Albany Medical College’s Department of Anesthesiology seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join the obstetric anesthesia faculty team as we expand care in the Capital Region. This academic medical center (Level 1 trauma) offers collaborative, research-forward environment with opportunities across obstetric and non-obstetric cases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.

Education

MD or DO degree (or equivalent)

Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required)

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency

Eligible for New York State medical licensure
