Job summary

Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center seeks a compassionate nursing aide to provide basic patient care, assist with mobility and daily living activities, and support the care team in a high-volume setting.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient comfort, and teamwork with nurses and other staff. Preferred candidates have recent acute care or long-term care experience, and are familiar with infection prevention and EPIC EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Must have active BLS and complete one of the listed nursing aide pathways or equivalent.
• Recent experience in acute or long-term care settings preferred.
• EPIC EHR training or familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vitals, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
• Participates in hand-off reports with pertinent information.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients with safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and individualizes care.
• Assists with feeding, hydration, and nutrition as needed.
