Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing care for a designated group of patients. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, initial assessments, and developing and updating plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.

The RN will ensure patient safety, administer medications per the five rights, and participate in timely admission and discharge of patients, including observation status.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IL) per IDFPR and BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• College Diploma in Nursing.
• Other licensure or credentials as required for unit-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties specific to the unit and scope of service.
• Implements procedures and nursing theories for area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date, accurate nursing documentation for care planning.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops care plans.
• Implements and updates care plans and interventions as needed.
• Ensures patient and employee safety and reports hazards.
• Communicates effectively within the healthcare team; provides feedback.
• Delegates tasks to HCTrs and validates completion.
• Documents RN care activities: vitals, meds, admissions, discharges, rounds, education.
• Maintains compliance with safety standards and patient room readiness.
