Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a staff Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing care for a group of patients within a designated time frame. The role emphasizes nursing judgment, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety standards across the care team.

The RN will perform initial assessments, develop and modify care plans, and ensure timely admission/discharge processes while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment on the unit.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required (IDFPR) or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the unit as defined by the scope of service.
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation for the care provided.
• Performs initial patient assessments and develops plans of care.
• Implements and updates care plans based on patient status.
• Ensures patient safety and resolves safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicates with the healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Administers medications following the 5 Rights and relevant safety protocols.
• Supports prompt admission/discharge for observation patients.
