Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer for the Platform team to build observability systems and tooling. You will enable visibility into how we build, ship, and operate our systems, partnering with Backend and Platform groups to scale across production workloads.

The role offers remote/hybrid/onsite options with SF-style compensation. You’ll contribute to cost attribution, deployment velocity, and resilient software foundations across the company’s infrastructure.

Qualifications

Proficient in TypeScript and backend/infrastructure experience.
Hands-on production experience with Go, Rust, or Zig.
Experience with distributed computing systems at scale.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, including object storage.
Familiarity with observability tooling and concepts (Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, Splunk, or Prometheus stack).

Responsibilities

Design and build high-scale internal observability systems (metrics, logs, traces).
Build cost attribution and chargeback tooling to map spend to business units.
Instrument services for compliance, auditing, and record-keeping requirements.
Evaluate, integrate, and operate observability infrastructure across vendors and CNCF stacks.
Ship pragmatic visibility features to improve build, deploy, and operate processes.
Collaborate with Backend and Platform engineers to scale observability infrastructure.
