Job summary

eTelligent Group is hiring for a Monitoring/Operations role in the Washington, DC area. You will build dashboards and alerts, learn normal API behavior, and ensure the platform handles Filing Season load with guidance from a senior operations lead.

You will set profiles for API performance, tune alerts, and assist in load testing and incident analysis. Strong writing, Linux scripting, and 1–3 years in relevant roles are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in monitoring, operations, site reliability, or performance testing.
• Experience with at least one monitoring or log tool (AppDynamics, ELK/Elastic, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus or Dynatrace).
• Understanding of HTTP, APIs, latency, throughput and error rates.
• Basic Linux and scripting in Python or Bash.
• Clear writing for incident notes and reports.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Eligibility to obtain IRS Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards and alerts in AppDynamics and ELK; add Prometheus metrics for Kong.
• Set normal profiles for each API (volume, latency, errors) and tune alerts.
• Help run a 60 day alert baseline to reduce IRS auto-generated tickets.
• Track certificate expiry and raise alerts at 60/30/14 days.
• Collect performance data; prepare weekly reviews; support daily reviews during Filing Season.
• Script and run load tests on webMethods and Kong before peak periods.
• Pull logs and metrics to support incident triage and root cause analysis.
• Report monthly availability and performance against contract standards.
