Job summary

Baseten is seeking talented Software Engineers to join the Observability team within the Infrastructure org. You will build and shape observability experiences, ensuring reliability and efficient operations as Baseten scales.

Work involves building high-throughput ingest pipelines, cost-conscious storage, and diagnostic tools to detect and resolve issues quickly across multi-cloud environments. Collaboration across teams is key.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with at least one observability signal area (metrics, logs, tracing, or error analytics) and familiarity with the others.
• Experience operating or building on observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable telemetry ingest and storage pipelines across multi-cloud infra.
• Own and evolve observability platforms to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Develop instrumentation libraries and SDKs for high-quality telemetry emission.
• Drive alerting and SLO infrastructure to monitor reliability with minimal noise.
• Collaborate with Inference, Product, and Infra teams to meet organizational needs.
