Job summary

The Oregon Clinic is hiring a full-time Scribe for our Obstetrics & Gynecology East Clinic in NE Portland. You will document visits in real time, manage patient intake, and help maintain accurate electronic medical records under physician supervision.

Preferred candidates have clinical environment experience, pre-med studies, and familiarity with EMR systems like EPIC. The role requires strong typing, confidentiality, and a commitment to at least one year.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a clinical environment preferred; Scribe or specialty care OBGYN experience is a plus.
• Current or recent enrollment in a pre-med program and a desire to continue education in medicine is preferred.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR experience; EPIC experience is a plus.
• Strong medical terminology and confidentiality responsibilities.
• Typing/Data entry at 85-90 wpm minimum with excellent writing skills.
• One-year commitment is desired.
• Ability to document information while listening to patient encounters and multitask effectively.
• Excellent attendance and work ethic; team player.
• Professional communication with patients, physicians, and team members.
• Commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and thoroughly documents medical visits and procedures as the physician performs them.
• Enters new patient intake information and reviews patient history prior to visits; completes notes after appointments.
• Makes changes to patient history and medical records under physician direction.
• Assists with other duties within the department as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
