Qualifications

• Must hold CPC certification and have experience in outpatient coding.
• Hands-on experience with OB-GYN coding workflows and guidelines.
• Ability to review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely outpatient medical coding based on clinical records.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient encounters.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of OBGYN coding including prenatal and postpartum care.
• Review records to identify diagnoses, procedures, and documentation needed for coding.
• Apply E/M coding guidelines and ensure proper documentation and coding sequencing.
• Identify missing or conflicting documentation and coordinate with teams for clarification.
• Follow ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI, and payer guidelines and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Conduct coding audits and quality checks to improve accuracy and meet targets.
• Stay updated with annual coding changes and payer policies.
