Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and tests in the exam room. You will handle pre-visit preparation, EMR updates, patient flow, and direct clinical support for assigned clinicians.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and Medical Assistant Certification. Preferred: MA certification program graduate, BLS, 1+ year clinical/customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Computer literacy and basic software skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests.
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills.
• Assist in resolving patients' concerns and complaints.
• Perform point-of-care testing (waived tests).
