Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Carolinas Medical Center – Gynecology Morehead area. This full‑time role offers 40 hours per week with shift M‑F 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., and a pay range of $21.85 to $32.80 per hour. The MA will perform rooming tasks, vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history reviews, and health screenings, while assisting with procedures, POCT, venipuncture, and vaccine administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required depending on division
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 in lieu of MA program
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to lift 35 pounds; patient handling equipment used for heavier lifts

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows department policies
• Rooming patients and taking vital signs
• Medication reconciliation and health maintenance
• Assist provider with procedures and venipuncture
• Perform waived lab tests per CLIA; track results
• Administer vaccines safely and accurately
• Maintain clean, stocked work area and age-appropriate care
• Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication
