Job summary

New York Health (NYH) – OBGYN division seeks a Medical Assistant (Float) to support Port Jefferson, Patchogue, Smithtown, and Wading River locations. You will manage patient intakes, collect lab specimens, record vitals, prepare patients for examinations, sterilize equipment, and assist with office procedures, including EKGs and point-of-care tests.

Requires Medical Assistant certificate and high school diploma; EMR experience preferred, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma.
• Proficiency with an EMR system (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to NYH locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and record accurate information.
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and tests.
• Record patients' vital signs and prepare them for examinations.
• Sterilize equipment and assist providers during visits.
• Assist physicians with exams and office procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.
