Job summary

The University of Minnesota invites applications for the Assistant Director of Research - Clinical Manager within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This leadership role oversees clinical operations and activation across the department's trial portfolio, guiding investigators, staff, and collaborative partners to ensure high-quality research.

You will manage study start-up, regulatory readiness, and continuity of trial activities while maintaining GCP and institutional standards,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical research coordination and clinical trial management.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical or research environment.
• Ability to lead, problem solve, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast-changing environment.
• Experience with study start-up, feasibility assessment, and site activation.
• Clinical research certification such as CCRC, CCRP, or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day clinical operations of assigned clinical trials.
• Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants in collaboration with investigators.
• Ensure protocol procedures are executed with clinical staff and data captured in EMR.
• Mentor and supervise clinical research staff and coordinators.
• Lead start-up and activation activities across the department.
• Maintain regulatory-compliant study documentation and reporting.
• Coordinate with IDS, BioNet, and campus partners to execute study activities.
• Provide updates to leadership on trial performance, staffing, and resources.
