Job summary

Endeavor Health in Naperville, IL is seeking an OB Technician to support the Birth Center with patient care and nursing assistance. The role includes surgical scrub duties, functioning as a CNA-like assistant, and rotating between units under RN supervision.

Hours are nights (7 pm–7 am) with rotating weekends and holidays. Requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and CNA-related training or experience. Full-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• CNA training certificate or 6 months of patient care experience or nursing clinical rotation
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize and to follow directions
• Attend in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks
• Successful completion of the OB Technician Scrub Class offered by the OB department

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates knowledge to care for women of childbearing age and newborns
• Performs surgical scrub roles and assists the surgical team with instruments
• Operates as scrub technician, maintains sterile field, counts sponges and instruments, and applies dressings after procedures
• Cleans operating room, restocks, and disposes of hazardous waste per OSHA standards
• Performs clerical and secretarial duties
