Job summary

Endeavor Health in Naperville, IL seeks an OB Technician to perform clerical and nursing care duties in the Family Birthing Center. You will assist during births, scrub for C-sections, and serve as a Nursing Assistant, rotating between units under RN supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, CPR certification, and CNA-related experience or equivalent training, with orientation and OB scrub class completion encouraged.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Certification: Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association.
• Experience: CNA certificate or 6 months of patient care experience or nursing rotation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, prioritization, and ability to follow directions.
• Attend in-depth orientation on patient care skills.
• Complete OB Technician Scrub Class offered by OB department.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates knowledge to care for women of childbearing age and newborns.
• Performs surgical scrub role assisting the surgical team.
• Provides scrub technician duties, maintains sterile field.
• Counts sponges and instruments with circulating nurse and applies sterile dressing.
• Collects specimens and delivers as necessary.
• Cleans operating room and restocks for next procedure on time.
• Disposes of hazardous medical wastes per OSHA standards.
• Performs clerical and secretarial duties.
