Job summary

UP Health Systems- Portage is seeking an OB Technician for part-time night shifts. The role involves patient care, scheduling, and support in Labor & Delivery under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include vital signs monitoring, assisting with daily living activities, and preparing operating room and equipment as needed. Requires nursing assistant credentials and BLS/NRP as applicable.

Qualifications

• Nurse aide training and Michigan CNA certification required at hire or within 4 months of hire.
• Graduate of Nursing School with Michigan LPN license or CMA certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; NRP within 3 months; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and glucose; record intake and output under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Orient patients and families to room; maintain confidentiality.
• Support admission, transfer, discharge and patient transport.
• Assist in scheduling and chart management for Labor & Delivery.
