Job summary

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to support labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Under RN supervision, you will assist with direct patient care and scrub in on OB surgeries, ensuring safety and comfort for mothers and babies.

The position emphasizes peri-operative obstetrical care, patient-care planning, and readiness for emergent situations in a fast-paced, team-driven unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Preferred candidates will bring prior experience in high-volume and/or critical care settings.
• Current BLS-Heart Saver.
• Successfully completion of Obstetrical Technician orientation and completion of specified competencies within the probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care to ensure safety and comfort during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Scrub in on surgical procedures (including cesarean sections) and perform essential support tasks in the OB OR.
• Contribute to patient care planning and respond confidently to emergent situations in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.
