Job summary

LifePoint Health's Wilson Medical Center is seeking an OB Tech to support the operating room team in the labor and delivery setting. You will help prepare the surgical suite, assist with patient positioning, and pass instruments under the surgeon’s direction.

This role emphasizes aseptic technique and accurate supply management. The position requires a high school diploma and BLS certification, with surgical technology training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of surgical technology program preferred.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Experience in operating room or labor and delivery setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and maintains aseptic technique.
• Accounts for instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for laboratory delivery.
• Handles patient registrations and documents charges in the system as needed.
